About the GreenShift Project
GREENSHIFT – Green Solutions for Holistic Industry Transformation is an international cooperation project that aims to strengthen sustainable collaboration between the business communities of Türkiye and the European Union and enhance the green transformation capacity of industry.
Implemented under the Türkiye-EU Business Dialogue II (TEBD II) Grant Scheme, the project is funded by the European Union. The Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) serves as the coordinator of the project, while the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) and VOKA – Chamber of Commerce and Industry Antwerp-Waasland participate as project partners. The project is implemented in Sakarya, Gaziantep and Antwerp-Waasland.
GREENSHIFT aims to strengthen the knowledge and implementation capacities of businesses, particularly SMEs, in areas such as the European Green Deal, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainable production and carbon management. In this context, the project supports businesses in reducing their environmental impact, developing sustainable business models and maintaining their competitiveness in international markets.
The project also focuses on strengthening the capacity of chambers to provide higher-quality services to their members in the fields of green transformation and sustainability. Training and e-learning activities, mentorship programmes, carbon footprint studies and institutional capacity-building practices constitute the key components of this approach.
GREENSHIFT also places particular emphasis on developing the human resources required for the green transition. Strengthening the knowledge and skills of university students and recent graduates in sustainability, green technologies, energy and resource efficiency, circular economy and carbon management is among the project's priorities. Through training, applied learning, mentorship and interaction with the business community, the project aims to equip young people with the competencies required to adapt to the green economy.
Enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experience among chambers, businesses, universities and other stakeholders in Türkiye and Belgium is another key objective of the project. Through international cooperation, business matchmaking, the exchange of best practices and joint initiatives, GREENSHIFT aims to foster sustainable and long-term partnerships.
The GREENSHIFT Project aims to contribute to:
- the wider adoption of green and sustainable practices by businesses,
- strengthening the capacity of chambers to provide sustainability-oriented services,
- developing a skilled workforce in the field of green transformation,
- reducing carbon emissions,
- promoting resource efficiency and circular economy approaches, and
- strengthening cooperation between the business communities of Türkiye and the European Union.
By bringing together the business community, academia and international stakeholders around a shared transformation vision, GREENSHIFT supports the development of a low-carbon, resource-efficient, innovative, competitive and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
E-Learning Platform
The GREENSHIFT E-Learning Platform is a digital learning environment that provides businesses, chamber staff, students and other stakeholders interested in green transformation with online access to sustainability-focused educational content. The platform aims to make the knowledge and skills required for the green transition accessible to wider audiences while supporting learning independently of time and location.
The platform provides educational content on key topics including the European Green Deal, carbon footprint, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), circular economy, energy and resource efficiency, sustainable production, renewable energy and green skills. These contents contribute to helping businesses better understand changing environmental and trade-related requirements, strengthen their sustainability capacities and adapt more effectively to green transformation processes.
The e-learning platform focuses not only on knowledge transfer but also on strengthening a culture of sustainability within businesses and institutions. The ability to monitor users' participation and progress in training supports a more systematic learning process and enables educational activities to be linked more effectively with institutional development.
For university students and recent graduates, the platform provides access to up-to-date knowledge and competencies required by the green economy. By strengthening the connection between the business community and academic knowledge, the platform supports the professional development of young people in sustainability, carbon management and green technologies while also contributing to the development of the skilled human resources required by businesses.
The GREENSHIFT E-Learning Platform aims to transform the knowledge and educational content developed within the scope of the project into a permanent, accessible and sustainable resource, thereby contributing to the long-term strengthening of institutional capacity in the field of green transformation.
